I believe a painter needs to approach the world with childlike curiosity and observation, then the fleeing glimpses and dramatic moments in time are recorded vividly in my mind. I go out into my local environment daily and am entranced by the drama of light and shadow, the tension of texture, line and form. I bring these impressions into the studio as the primary influence for my paintings.
